Trade School Initiative
Skilled-trades pipelines tied to real regional labor demand.
About this program
RFEDC's Trade School Initiative builds skilled-trades training pathways — starting with welding — through partnership and collaboration agreements with regional employers and training providers. The goal is not generic job training but pipelines matched to actual labor demand in the Memphis metro.
What we do
Welding certification pathways for corridor residents
Employer partnership agreements for direct placement
Collaboration with regional training providers
Expansion into additional skilled trades as demand warrants
Why it matters
Memphis has a documented skilled-trades shortage. Raleigh-Frayser residents are positioned to fill that gap — if the training infrastructure exists in their neighborhood and connects to real employers.
